After conducting numerous audits based on Jakob Nielsen’s Usability Heuristics for User Interface Design and seeing the value it gave clients, Monterail decided to translate it into a resource for the design community. I was tasked with combining this internal knowledge base and knowledge from research and other use cases to create a simple template (Figma community file & Google Slides) that both designers and non-designers from all around the world can download and use to do the following:
Understand what users need
Spot issues in different screens of a digital product
Assign value to each issue
Understand what issues to prioritize
Create an action plan for a successful iteration
The Holy Grail: Delighting Users
Some designers in my team at Monterail had the opportunity to conduct UX audits with this new template and they were happy with it. They expressed their genuine appreciation for its features and were particularly excited about how it brought a sense of organization and speed to their audit workflow.
Below is a watered-down version of the template.
